What is USS?
The Urban Science and Sustainability (USS) community is actively engaged in promoting global cooperation and working towards addressing sustainability challenges for the betterment of societies. Our goal is to champion sustainable practices and enhance the health and prosperity of urban communities worldwide.
The concept of establishing the USS emerged in January 2021, uniting a group of distinguished scholars who share a common interest in advancing urban science and urban sustainability. To foster research, applications, and communication in the rapidly growing field of urban science and sustainability, they formed a steering committee and planned the launch of a new workshop.
To accomplish our mission, the USS has developed a robust network that facilitates knowledge exchange, generates high-quality research, and sparks social change. We regularly host various events such as lecture series, international conferences, and winter schools, providing platforms for intellectual exchange and collaboration.
The USS currently boasts a growing network of over 100 scholars from all continents. Within the workshop, different sections organize events and offer resources focused on fundamental areas including urban science, urban sustainability, urban systems, urban metabolism, and urban health.
As we continue to build this platform, we invite you to consider joining our community of renowned scholars and professionals who are committed to advancing urban science and sustainability.
